BHGRE METRO BROKERS PARTICIPATES IN HABITAT BUILD

More than 40 sales associates and staff members came out to the Atlanta Board of Realtors® Habitat for Humanity build this past weekend to help make Ms. Santeria Reedy’s dream of homeownership come true.

The build took place in an established neighborhood near I-20 on the west side of Atlanta. When the agents arrived that morning, only the basic framing of the home was complete, but they quickly got to work on the house.

During the course of the day, volunteers worked on the roof and siding of the home, placed windows on the exterior and even began work on the interior of the home.

President and CEO Kevin Levent was on site all day to lend a hand and encourage the volunteers.

“We’re in the business of making families’ dreams of homeownership a reality, so it only makes sense that we all work together to build a Habitat house,” said Levent. “I’m glad that so many of our agents gave their time and effort to this worthy cause.”

Agents from several different offices came out to support the build. In addition to BHGRE Metro Brokers sales associates, there were a handful of seasoned Habitat volunteers that included builders and other members of the construction industry.

This is the 10th Habitat for Humanity Home build organized by the Atlanta Board of Realtors®. The project takes place each Saturday over a 7-week period with the dedication scheduled for October 22.

Ms. Santeria Reedy is this year’s Habitat recipient. She and her son Antonio Willis, Jr. will be living in the home. Ms. Reedy works as a sales associate at a large major retailer and is very involved in her church. She is leaving a situation that is less affordable, crowded, and sometimes unsafe. Ms. Reedy has worked hard to have a place to call her own and is so glad to be realizing her dream of an affordable home.
