REAL ESTATE ICON H.B. GRAVITTE RETIRES

At his retirement party, H.B. Gravitte of the West Cobb office was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Certification by President and CEO Kevin Levent for his 46 years of service in the real estate industry.

This month, H.B Gravitte of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers’ West Cobb office – a mainstay of the real estate industry since 1964 – decided to announce his retirement. His ethics, standards of professionalism, and love for his clients and fellow associates has kept him at the top of his game.

His office in West Cobb at 3600 Dallas Highway held a retirement party on February 3 where friends, clients, BHGRE Metro Brokers staff and agents came out to celebrate the career and accomplishments of Gravitte.

After 46 years in real estate, Gravitte has a long list of admirers. Every attendee praised his hard work and dedication:

  • Susan Jobson, Office Manager at West Cobb, added, “He beats me in to work almost every morning and is always willing to help out around the office. It definitely will not be the same without him.”
  • Pat Wise commented on the influence he has had on BHGRE Metro Brokers agents: “He has set the standard for all of us. He is a true Realtor in his ethics, how he conducts his business, how he treats everyone around him, and his attitude.”
  • Bobbie Pardue of the Ellijay office has worked with Gravitte many times over the years. “H.B. works hard, cares about his clients, is honest from the word ‘go’ and is just delightful to work with,” Pardue said.
  • “He is a constant presence in the office, showing us that if he can come in, we can come in,” Waverly Harding commented on Gravitte’s work ethic.

At the party, President and CEO Kevin Levent presented Gravitte with a Lifetime Achievement Certificate.

“H.B. has always shown all the qualities of exemplary service, customer care, reliability, and knowledge. Those very tenets are the reason for his success and love for the industry,” Levent commented. “BHGRE Metro Brokers is very lucky to have had such a fine person working for us for so many years. While we have many other people with high honors and values, H.B. influenced a great number of agents in such a positive way that it’s hard to duplicate. He truly created ‘clients for life’.”

Gravitte’s business through the years has been built on referrals and long-time clients. He has done close to 30 transactions for one family and has helped the grandchildren of some of his original clients. In 2005, Metro Brokers recognized Gravitte by awarding him the Outstanding Industry Award. In 2009, Gravitte was honored by the West Cobb Board of Realtors for 45 years in the real estate industry.
