Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers encourages sales associates to utilize Facebook and other social networking sites to gain new business. So far, Ennis Antoine of the Perimeter office and Mark Broyles of the North Fulton office have both achieved success.
Antoine constantly adds new status updates to his page about what is going on in his business such as “beginning to work with a new buyer”, “wrote a contract” or “attending a closing”. He also posts links to the latest news articles regarding real estate.
Antoine receives referrals consistently through Facebook from friends, family, prior clients and other agents. Recently, he visited the Georgia Association of Realtors conference in Florida and one of the agents he networks with added him as a friend on Facebook. Barely a week later, Antoine received a referral for a buyer who was looking for a home in the metro area.
But it’s not all business with Antoine. He lets his friends get to know him as a person (not just a businessman) with posts like “my morning run was exhilarating today in the rain”, “headed to church...”, or a post with pictures about the barbeque he hosted.
In addition, Broyles also uses Facebook on a regular basis. Former clients simply send a message or post to his wall that they have someone who needs help, and Mark is instantly on top of it.
“Most of my referrals are no longer on the phone,” explains Broyles. “My clients are more apt to send a lead over Facebook than to take the time to pick up the phone. It’s just easier.”
Just the other day, Broyles posted “Another successful closing! Who said the market was slow? My clients are seriously on fire, taking advantage of the great opportunities” and one of his friends commented “Do you think that you can sell a house on 3.6 acres in West Cobb? We want to move to Vinings.” That’s how it starts.
