Contracts Up, Closings Up in 2011

While some real estate companies continued to struggle, 2011 was a great year for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers. For the first time since 2006, BHGRE Metro Brokers had an increase in both contracts and closings. After four years of decline, we are on the upswing.

Contracts were up 28% and closings were up 27% companywide over 2010. Even though prices were down year over year, it did translate into about 14% more commission for agents in 2011 than 2010.

“Across the company, we saw agents buckle down and get back to the basics of buying and selling,” said President and CEO Kevin Levent. “I appreciate everyone’s hard work, and we plan on having an even better 2012.”

While Levent doesn’t expect the market to have a full-on rebound in 2012, he stated that “sales will continue to rise across the board. Now is a great time to be in the business of real estate as a part of the BHGRE Metro Brokers team.”
